You need to dress, how you want to be addressed…

After years of research, it has been proven that any impact of communication is 55% Visual, 38% Vocal and 7% Verbal.

Which means, that if you want to be heard, to be taken seriously, to be respected, you have got to look the part. It is simple, it is the BE, DO & HAVE model. Let us understand the model first, if you want to be the influencer within your circle, or if you want to be the manager everyone goes to, or the gentleman people naturally turn to; you have got to look IT, dress IT  and be IT before you can have IT.

Let us start with breaking myths about style. For beginners, style is not about vanity, narcissism and blowing your own trumpet. It is all about respecting yourself.

In the words of Charles Hix, “Looking good isn’t self – importance, it is self respect.”

Haven’t you heard, a man is judged by the company he keeps and the shoes he wears? And you wouldn’t want to be judged based on a bad pair of loafers you bought from discount store now, would you?

I grew up in Bangalore, with neither a fashion conscious friends or family. My upbringing was pretty simple, which meant loads of hand me downs from my elder brother. Some 13 years ago when I moved to London, I was your typical poster boy for the mumma’s boy, geeky, Indian doctor. Infact for years together I existed in a state of limbo, a state of just being, struggling to be taken seriously, to be heard, to be understood.

It wasn’t until a few years later that I realised, people listen to what they see. And if they don’t see a well dressed, expert, they won’t believe what he has to say. So, my next challenge was to look like a man who knows what he is talking about. I needed to discover my individual style that would talk volumes about who I am. Because you need to dress, how you want to be addressed.
